    the pomegranate punch smoothie

    pomegranate punch smoothie_hot for food

Did you know that pomegranates will last months if you keep them in a plastic bag tied up in the fridge? Seems suffocating, but it's true. I read it somewhere and I've had a bunch in my fridge since before December! That's where the inspiration to throw them into my morning blend came from, and that's how the pomegranate smoothie was born! It's a fresh one.

I'm pretty sure pom seeds are one of the cutest things ever? They just look so delightful and crisp on top of literally anything, especially this pomegranate smoothie. If you fancy a drink that's a little more suited for happy hour, I also threw 'em in this pear & pomegranate champagne cocktail.

    Prep Time: 10 minutes minutes
    Total Time: 10 minutes minutes
    Servings: 2 cups
    Author: Lauren Toyota

    Ingredients

    • ½ C pomegranate seeds
    • ½ a navel orange, peeled
    • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
    • 1 C coconut water
    • 1 ½ C ice cubes

    Instructions

    • This one definitely requires a high-powered blender because of the pulpy orange, but alternatively you could just do half the amount of coconut water and add another half cup of fresh orange juice to the mix if you want. Blend all the ingredients together until very smooth and frothy. Serve immediately.
